Steinel-Gruppe was founded in 1959 and has since then consistently grown from a pioneer in its field to a technology and innovation leader in sensor technology and lighting control (outdoor lights, spotlights, indoor lights) as well as hot air devices and hot glue guns. In the area of motion and presence detectors, the company is considered a global technology leader. Steinel-Gruppe develops, produces and sells its innovative range of products from its headquarters in Herzebrock-Clarholz in Germany’s Westphalia region as well as from five other locations in Leipzig (Germany), Einsiedeln (Switzerland), the Czech Republic, Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Sales in Europe and the USA are handled by wholesalers and retailers as well as planners, architects and installers.

As part of a succession plan, ADCURAM acquired 75 percent of the Steinel-Gruppe shares in late 2019. By gradually introducing a young, determined management team, a seamless transition was ensured and a noticeable increase in profitability was achieved after just a few months by optimizing existing processes, particularly in regard to the internal supply chain. In addition, online sales were expanded and new international sales initiatives were also launched, including in France and the USA. With its approximately 1,500 employees, Steinel-Gruppe most recently generated revenues of around EUR 160 million. In the long term, the company will continue to grow via add-on acquisitions and further expand its influential role in the area of building intelligence.
