As a trading company, WOUNDWO Sonnenlichtdesign GmbH & Co. KG was already founded in 1952 in Graz, Austria. WOUNDWO is a renowned quality supplier of sun protection solutions with around 300 employees. The long-established company’s product portfolio includes awnings, external Venetian blinds, roller shutters, insect screens as well as interior privacy and sun protection solutions. As an international supplier of high-quality products ‘Made in Austria’, WOUNDWO actively advances current developments such as outdoor living and smart home through individually designed solutions. The company has a leading position in the Austrian market.

As part of a share deal, ADCURAM fully acquired WOUNDWO at the end of 2015. Since then, an internationalization strategy focusing on markets adjacent to Austria has been established and expanded, initially with a focus on the areas of ‘ready-to-use’ shading systems and insect protection. At the same time, WOUNDWO’s expert role for textile shading systems in the fields of living and wellbeing was more clearly defined and anchored in the market. By introducing an experienced, capable management team, it became possible to implement step-by-step process optimizations in the areas of order development, coating and complaints processing, and to optimize the production landscape. Further planned development steps are the expansion of the product range and leveraging international growth potential. With the support of ADCURAM, WOUNDWO’s revenues recently increased to almost EUR 55 million. Particularly impressive is the fact that 2020 was the most successful year in WOUNDWO’s history, despite the coronavirus crisis.
